Our Historical Background

JANIDA

The Japan NGO for International Development in Africa was established as an International Non-Government Organization on 2nd January 2016 and fully registered with the Government of Japan on 2016/09/26. The main purpose of this organization is to promote International Cooperation between Japan & Africa and other countries around the World, with an ultimate aim of reducing hunger, poverty and Climate change catastrophes in Africa. In order to achieve this goal, the organization is planning to implementing strategies that strongly support interventions in Agriculture, Food & Nutrition safety, Environment & Climate Change, Water & Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Enery, Science & Technology, Social & School Education, Gender equality and International Partnership. On the other hand, the organization was also timely established to also contribute to the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Although JANIDA is an International Organization, JANIDA Uganda is registered as a National NGO in Uganda which is mandated to implement its activities autonomously and deliver its services directly to the grass-root beneficiaries especially the local communities such as the smallholder farmers, Women & Youth groups and other vulnerable local communities. JANIDA is doing this work through deploying its own staffs by using the existing community structures in collaboration with local partner NGOs and other stakeholders.
